People’s Life Institute is an evangelical Christian ministry serving individuals and families in the eastern Hillsborough and western Polk county area. We depend wholly on generous donations from individuals, a local network of churches, ministry partners and community support. We were blessed to be the community ministry arm of the Shiloh Baptist Association for 12 years, and appreciate their tremendous support. We will continue to partner with them and maintain a close kinship with the Association and network churches.

Moving Forward! We serve the homeless and at-risk population in Plant City and Eastern Hillsborough County and as always welcome your requests and referrals for those in need. Our Doctrinal foundation has not changed and is still set upon the Baptist Faith and Message 2000, especially Part 15, the Christian and the Social Order. We will continue to partner with local Southern Baptist churches and with other like-minded Christ-following churches to be a conduit and resource to those in need As of 1/1/2025 we now operate as an independent non-denominational organization. Our new ministry incorporated in August of 2024; any donations provided should be eligible for charitable exemption back to that date as soon as our official designation is received from the IRS. Our application for non-profit 501c3 status is pending with the IRS; they have informed us that priority is given to the organizations that are providing hurricane relief in Florida, North Carolina and Georgia.

Scripture tells us to care for ourselves, our families and one another in the community. In Titus 3:14 we see that "our people must also learn to devote themselves to good works in order to meet the pressing needs of others, so that they will not be unfruitful."

OUR VISION: To build a strong and thriving community by inspiring individuals and families to find purpose, regain dignity and become self-sufficient and stable in all areas of their lives.

OUR MISSION: To provide programs and services designed to ignite faith and hope, communicate God’s love in word and deed while equipping our clients with tools and community resources to achieve self-sufficiency and long-term stability.

HOW WE HELP: We provide assessment and case management with facilitation of job training and readiness, coaching, skill building and adult literacy education, with practical helps. We maintain a list of community resources for client referral to empower and elevate those on the journey to self-sufficiency and stability. PLI builds strong relationships with local area partners to gain full knowledge of all available resources to connect our clients to the bountiful benefits in the community.

OUR CORE VALUES ARE:

FORTITUDE - to courageously face and overcome fear and adversity (Rom 5:3 And not only so: we also exult in our sufferings, knowing as we do, that suffering produces fortitude)

GRATITUDE - for the blessings we have and may receive (1 Chronicles 16:34 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.)

LOVE - of God and his people and creation (1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God and everyone who loves is born of God....)

TRUTH - through habitually speaking the truth in love (Psalm 119:160 The sum of Your word is truth, And every one of Your righteous ordinances is everlasting.)

SELF-CONTROL - to build success and maintain stability (2 Tim 1:7 For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.)
